Addressing the Polypharmacy Challenge in Older People

The Polypharmacy Challenge Blog

Affected by dementia? Prescribed lots of medicines? Give us your views...

Lucie Hogger, CLAHRC research fellow at Queen Mary University of London and Speech and Language Therapist, would like to hear from people affected by dementia about their views of prescription medicines.

Lots of people with dementia have to take prescription medicines. Family and friends often help the person with dementia with their medicines, from reminding them to take them to picking up prescriptions. Lucie would like to give people with experience of dementia a chance to talk about their experiences of taking medicines and give their opinions on a research project about prescription medicines and dementia.

If you are a person with dementia, or the family member or friend of a person with dementia, you are invited to join Lucie and a small group of 4-6 other people affected by dementia to talk about medicines. This is a chance to share stories and give opinions about medicines.

When and where will this meet up take place?

The group will meet between 10.30 – 12.00 on Friday the 19th of October near Archway station, Islington, London.

As a thank you, each person attending will receive a £25 shopping voucher.

Travel costs will be paid and refreshments will be provided.

I'm interested - what should I do next?

If you would like to come, or you would like more information, please call Lucie on 07900 685669 or email Lucie at l.hogger@qmul.ac.uk
